You know sometimes I find it funny when people act a certain way while in front of you, and change masks the moment they turn the corner. People are funny creatures, we see our selves as beings placed in one surrounding, and living our lives fitting our puzzled edges with those around us. Humanity lives by the words of those above us and scramble on thin air to avoid the bottom. Yes this is natural, no living creature wants to fall to the bottom of any chain; whether it be food or society. But what is the real difference?? The difference between Food and Society?? Is there a difference? As young adults the only society we reached out for were our fellow peers; we strived for their acceptance, and sometimes drowned in the blowing brush of reality. Did we ever belong? Though the surface changes; yes on both Creature and nature; the story never does. From that young toddler rombing around the back yard with the attention of his parents, to the adult sitting behind the desk working for that check at the end of the week, we all strive for acceptance.
Humanity is like a forever rotating hour glass; no matter how many times you turn it the sand is still there; and no matter how many ways you look at it, humanity is still starving for that slap on the back. We pull away from family and friends to keep our homes big and luxorious, we tarnish the words and reputations of others to reach the top... No this is not a shpeel on "Money isnt love", but a wondering feeling of why humanity needs others to accept them before accepting themselves. I realize that no one person is remotly close to perfect, and in a perfect world maybe acceptance would play a smaller role. But with knowing this; as every child is brought into the world we take a sence of mind and character that all builds off of acceptance, being able to belong in this crazy world.
We reach goals then create new ones, or we die a wethered bowl full of regret. There are many whom I know, and have met that seem comfortable in their life style and ask for the chance to just be able to smile every day. To be honest I envy those few. Being a self loathing being isn't what any person had in mind, but if you think about it aren't we all. Day in and day out we self consumed creatures work towards someone else liking us, someone else accepting us, we fight for a hand to hold, a shoulder to cry on, and even an ear to shed weighted thoughts on. At this point I can see people asking "What is she getting at?" Well here it is....
Humanity is always fighting for acceptance, one way or another. But if while scrambling to reach acceptance, why is it people feel the need to please others with counterfit feelings, and fumbling lies? If any one person wants "True" Acceptance; the only thing to do is be your self. To accept me for me you have to see every color I carry beneath my sleeves, you have to see my Brown hair, my round face, my need to find self reliance within my art, and even my dark painted nails. To accapt me you have to know me, and if I cant bare you knowing me... The real me, what part of me can you accept.
We live in a crude, judgmental, almost upside down world; where every crease within mother nature screams INPERFECTION!! So if something as natural as the ground you walk on can be beautiful, strong, and tolerant... Then Why can't we???
~For Racheal S.D. I wish you could have seen the beautiful person you were, the beauty you spoke, and the lessons you tought me. I will love you always my best of friends, Rest In Peace Nugget. :) ~
